Set of Four Mario Papperzini Amalfi Iron Lounge Garden Chairs

$18,000.00

An iconic and rare set of four of "Amalfi" lounge chairs with adjustable chain backs after the mid-century modern design by Mario Papperzini for John Salterini. The set features an open iron framework inset with geometric lattice strapping. Each chair is constructed with slender tubular legs and a radiating X-form stretcher, ribbon-like undulating arms, and adjustable chains to customize the back seating position. The tops of the seat backs, arm supports, and ottoman supports are fitted with elegant round bronze ball finials. The heavy iron frames of the chairs have a dramatic charcoal-toned powder-coated finish. The frames are topped with plush curved seat cushions in a soft off-white tactile fabric. The frames are sturdy and solid chairs having excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The chairs are in exceptional condition as seen in photos. The mid-century modern design by Mario Papperzini is marketed through high-end sites such as Amalfi, Janus et Cie, and originally John Salterini. The set is crafted in an elegant mid-century Italian Neoclassical garden style, well-suited for use indoors or outdoors in a sunroom, garden, patio, living room, or poolside. The seats measure 12" high without cushions. Sold as a set of four. The chairs are located in our California warehouse, ready for delivery and installation.
