Set of Eight Louis XV Style Caned Walnut Dining Chairs


19th century gorgeous set of eight French caned dining chairs hand-carved from walnut in the grand Louis XV taste. The chairs feature an open cartouche shaped back inset with cane. The seats have serpentine aprons that are bowed in the front and inset with cane. The seats are supported by elegant cabriole legs ending with scrolled feet. The frames are molded and decorated with floral motifs on the legs and seat crest. Beautifully constructed with older repairs and newer cane on some of the chairs. The matching chairs have a rich, aged patina and a country French provincial aesthetic and profile.

Condition: Good, minor wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with solid joinery. Age appropriate wear with old repairs, age cracks, replaced cane, and newer hardware. One chair has fair joinery and cane with old repairs visible from the bottom of seat.
