A striking large set of 17 hand-formed ceramic egg or ovoid form sculptural garden ornaments, each finished in a vivid saturated cobalt blue high-gloss glaze. The ceramic surfaces are richly worked with fine incised, striated, and raked linear texture beneath the glaze. The gracefully swirled design helping to catch light and give movement to the pieces. The glaze ranges from deep ultramarine and lapis blue to darker navy shades, with speckled undertones and natural variation from firing and hand-crafted character. Several decorative pieces bear an incised artist’s mark. Modeled in the manner and style of Jun Kaneko, the group presents beautifully as accent pieces or a dramatic garden installation, with each unique piece subtly varying in height, width, proportion, and posture.
