Opulent marble top library table or partners desk designed by Sally Sirkin Lewis for J. Robert Scott known as the Sheffield library table (model #D-573) it features a dramatic silver leaf finish on the carved wood. The writing table features storage drawers on each side in a partners desk style. The case has a neoclassical style reeded design supported by column style tapered legs that end with pairs of small feet. The finish is intentionally aged with a silver leaf finish having a silver gilt patina. The legs are canted on the corners and the desk is topped with a conforming thick slab of marble having a beveled edge. Sturdy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. This is one of Sirkin's most impressive pieces custom made for an estate at the Wilshire House Los Angeles, CA. The original order tags are under the marble top. Apron measures 25 inches from the floor.
