Ralph Lauren Palladian Style Pedestal Center or Dining Table
$8,800.00
An elegant and rare signed round center or dining table crafted in the neoclassical Greco-Roman Palladian style designed in the late 20th century by Ralph Lauren. The table features a large round top veneered in rich fruitwood or beech with a warm honey-amber toned finish showcasing the fine woodgrains. The top sits on a boldly tapered and turned octagonal column with faceted planes. The column extends from a molded circular collar and a concave tripartite pedestal base, a hallmark of classical Palladian furniture. Each of the three legs ends in an elaborately carved acanthus-scroll foot with hand-finished and sculptural carving in deep relief. The underside of the table reveals solid wood block construction joinery. A brass Ralph Lauren maker's plaque is exposed on the base. The table has a stunning profile and is equally suited for use as a dining table, center table, or a large pedestal table. This specific design is no longer produced by Ralph Lauren, but is comparable to the 'Bryce', 'Mayfield', and 'Hoffman' tables currently in production. The table is heavy and sturdy having solid joinery and construction in exceptional condition as seen in photos with a desirable aged patina on the finish commensurate age and use. From a grand estate in San Francisco, CA.
