Italian regency pair of walnut shell back armchairs or dining chairs made in the Venetian grotto style. The chairs feature a rich walnut frame hand-carved with a dramatic scalloped shell motif back. The generous seat has wide arms measuring 26 inches high. The round seat is upholstered with a printed fabric having a foliate motif bordered by brass tack nail heads. The seat is supported by elegant square legs that taper and splay on the ends. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with an iconic Venetian grotto profile. Price is for the pair.
