Pair of Swedish Neoclassical Gustavian Style Painted Hall Chairs

Gorgeous pair of Swedish hall chairs or dining chairs made in the 18th century neoclassical Gustavian taste. The beech frames feature an intentionally distressed painted finish with parcel gilt accents. The klismos style tablet back is supported by an x form splat centered with a carved rosette. The back support and front legs have elegant tulip bud vase columns with carved petals. The seat and back have been newly re-upholstered with a neutral color linen fabric. The fabric is bordered by carved egg and dart style pattern with the seat having carved rosettes on the front corners. The chairs are structurally sound and solid with an intentionally aged patina on the beautifully painted finish.
