Opulent pair of Italian carved curule x form bench seats featuring an aged silver leaf finish. The benches are constructed from beech with a red lacquer base and embellished with silver leaf. The x form frames have intricate carved foliate details with high relief laurel leaf and ribbon decoration in the neoclassical taste. The legs are gracefully arched ending with paw feet. The fabric while being vintage still shows well having a damask upholstery with floral bouquets. The benches are sturdy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The silvered finish has a lovely patina and classic European profile. Sold as a pair. From an estate in San Francisco, California.
