Pair of Italian Neoclassical Style Backless Hall Chairs


Opulent pair of Italian hall chairs made in the neoclassical style. The chairs feature a backless design having decorative molded raised arms ending with large greek keys topped with finials. The frames have an intentionally aged, distressed lacquer patina with parcel gilt decoration. The square seat is decorated with rosettes on the corners and upholstered with a dark oxblood faux leather. The seat is supported by fluted legs having gilt acanthus tops. Amazing detail and profile from any angle with a rich aged patina. Provenance: From the estate of artist Ira Yeager (American 1938-2022) Napa Valley, CA. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Perfect for the foyer or entry.
