Pair of French Louis XV Style Walnut Bergeres with Linen

Exquisite near pair of late 19th/early 20th century French bergères having newly upholstered seats in a geometric pattern light gray linen fabric. The chairs are nearly identical with one chair having a 2 inch higher seat crest rail. The hand-carved frames are constructed from French walnut with a desirable weathered patina on the finish commensurate age and use. The chairs are heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The curvaceous frames have padded arms with generous seats having a fitted, loose seat cushion that is very comfortable. The chairs are supported by cabriole legs. The backs of the chairs have an exposed back with an upholstered inset. Sold as a pair. From the estate of Philip Fowler Bel Air, California.
