19th century beautifully weathered pair of Queen Anne style dining chairs featuring a chinoiserie decorated painted finish. The parcel gilt hand painted back splats have a moriage style or raised pigment. The Asian motifs standout boldy over a dramatic dark red ground. The painted finish has a desirable age and fading with craquelure. The seat cushions are newly upholstered with chenille style striped fabric. The seats are supported by gracefully curved cabriole legs ending with pad feet. Distinctive dining or accent chairs. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
