Pair of Baroque Style Oak Barley Twist Stools by Ira Yeager

$2,400.00

Late 19th century pair of English oak dining chairs repurposed and re-designed by artist Ira Yeager (American 1938-2022). The distinctive chairs were crafted in the Baroque or Louis XIII style featuring a square seat supported by barley twist turned supports and block legs decorated with carved rosettes. The chairs have been re-imagined as stools. The seat has been upholstered with a faux leather naugahyde in a caramel color with decorative brass tack nail heads. The back chair supports have been modified into cone shaped reeded finials on the backs of the seat. Yeager loved to display his French and Swedish style artwork with antique period furniture he had painted or modified for his art gallery in the Napa Valley area. Provenance: Purchased from the Yager Galerie in Calistoga, CA. Sold as a pair. We have 3 pairs available.
