Charming pair of late 19th-century English Victorian footstools featuring fine needlepoint upholstery with a scrollwork motif. The stools have a square-shaped pine frame that is solid and sturdy with an exposed wood trim base. The squares are supported by ball-shaped feet. The needlepoint fabric has a warm palette of burgundy and gold with elegant scrollwork patterns echoing traditional European textile design. Classic blend of decorative appeal and fine craftsmanship. The stools have a lovely aged patina with cottage core aesthetic. The squares are completely embellished on all sides with needlepoint work. Sold as a pair. From an estate in the Napa Valley, California.
