A rare and dramatic beautifully crafted walnut upholstered hall bench or settee constructed in a Swedish Biedermeier style. Crafted entirely out of richly figured honey-toned burl walnut and birch veneers, the bench stretches to an impressive length of 11.5 feet. The bench or settee is crafted with gracefully curved and splayed arms sweeping downwards into saber legs and an ornately carved back divided into five bays, each with a hand-pierced lyre-and-scroll splat and a turned baluster pole accent. The grand bench is fitted with a long vintage upholstered seat in a lightly aged dotted soft yellow fabric. The bench has solid joinery and should be placed against a wall for back support due to the oversized length. The wood veneers have a lovely golden aged patina full of charm and character. The piece is crafted on a rare scale in a stylish Karl Johan Swedish Biedermeier style, well-suited for a variety of spaces as a long settee, hall bench, or window bench. Gorgeous European Biedermeier design in an airy and restrained Swedish Aesthetic.
