Michael Berman for Brown Jordan "Luna" Aluminum Garden Daybed

$7,800.00

A stylish and rare labeled outdoor aluminum "Luna" daybed or chaise lounge designed by Michael Berman and made by Brown Jordan in the late 20th century. From the "Luna" collection the distinctive piece known as  the "Luna Sunport" features a curved barrel-back form wrapping around each end, completed with galleries filled by open fretwork interlocking aluminum rings in a geometric design. Each end has raised shelter arms while the sides are left open, similar to the style of a tête-à-tête settee. The chic daybed sits atop four gently splayed saber legs connected by a thick apron encircling the entire piece. The aluminum is finished in a soft off-white powder-coat finish. The original fitted cushion and four additional throw pillows are upholstered in a chartreuse, grey, and ivory fabric in an abstract palm frond and zebra stripe pattern. The upholstery while being vintage still shows well given age and use with minor wear. The daybed frame is solid and heavy with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The piece is constructed in a crisp blend of Mid-Century Modern, Coastal Resort, and Tropical Palm Beach styles, well-suited for a variety of uses, including poolside, on a terrace, patio, or indoor-outdoor spaces. Brown Jordan manufacturer's label is located on the underside of the bed. Includes cushion, and four square throw pillows.
