A handsome organic modern oak and rattan games table, made by McGuire Furniture, San Francisco, California. The square expandable table features a flip-top mechanism, functioning as a compact square folding outwards into a rectangular table with double the surface area measuring 72 inches wide when open. The hinged two-part oak wood top is finished in a rich, deeply striated wood grain in a deep walnut brown with a glossy lacquered surface, and is joined by a row of brass hinges. The top rests on a faux-bamboo apron and base, constructed from stained rattan poles in a linear composition with straight leg columns of bundled poles. The top design appears to be floating with a hidden support. Brass McGuire maker's tag is present under the table. Crafted in a blend of Mid-Century and Organic Modern, Tropical Palm Beach, and Coastal Californian styles, the versatile table is suited for a variety of spaces as a games table, center table, side, accent table, or as a small breakfast dining table with the ability to double in size.
