Karl Springer Style Natural Shagreen Waterfall Cocktail Table

$8,800.00

A sculptural 20th century waterfall coffee cocktail table finished fully clad in light ivory natural shagreen. The surface is composed of meticulously aligned hand-cut shagreen tiles, creating a refined geometric veneer grid. The result is a textured pebbled surface with subtle tonal movement in shades of cream, bone, and sand. The silhouette is done in a minimalist waterfall style consisting of a slab gracefully flowing down into two end panels. The ends or legs sit on a thin recessed plinth base, giving the table a subtle floating effect. The natural shagreen hides are crafted smooth and mostly flat for an even surface. The impressive piece reads as minimalist mid to late 20th century Organic Modern, in the style and manner of Karl Springer (German, 1931-1991). The top measures 1.5" thick. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
