A fantastic large and colorful 20th century Japanese watercolor crafted on hand-made paper painting presenting a large panorama composition of vividly colored florals and blossoms appearing to be from scrolls. The gestural painting measures over 6 feet wide framed. The painting features large chrysanthemum heads in bright chromatic tones of cobalt, teal, olive, chartreuse, ochre, crimson, blush pink, burgundy, lavender, and silver interspersed throughout. Gnarled, ink-washed branches weave throughout the entire painting, adorned with hundreds of individually dotted blossoms in vivid vermilion, coral, and orange tones. The painting is backed by cream-toned Xuan paper. The painting is presented in a large brushed metallic champagne-gold frame with a row of silver hobnail trim. The work is signed in the lower left with a calligraphic inscription and a red seal appearing to read "Nishikawa". The sight of the piece measures 69" wide and 30.5" tall.
