India Mahdavi Alber Sectional Walnut Brass Dining Table 11 Ft

$25,000.00

A monumental and rare signed sectional dining table constructed from brass and lacquered walnut designed by India Mahdavi for Ralph Pucci. The "Alber" table is constructed in France and named in honor of the late designer Alber Elhaz. The long table features an asymmetrical/free shape sectional bipartite design with three substantial cylindrical brass bases and a black lacquered walnut top surface. The bespoke table was custom ordered in a monumental custom size measuring over 11 feet wide. The two-part top is joined together with fitted convex-concave edges, forming a grand dining surface. Each walnut top section is finished in a deep jet black gloss lacquer with an almost mirror-like quality. The top is accompanied by protective table pads having a richly embossed decorative reptile-skin patterned surface to preserve the lacquered wood finish. The table is supported by impressive brass cylindrical form bases in a warm satin matte brass finish, consisting of two individual round columns and a double conjoined oval column cylinder. The table is very heavy and solid having excellent joinery and craftsmanship in exceptional condition as seen in photos. Original "india Mahdavi/Made in France" plaque label is present underneath. This grand dining table was commissioned by Samantha Todhunter Design, London for an estate in San Francisco, CA. Provenance: From a historic 1916 Julia Morgan designed mansion in Presidio Heights San Francisco, CA. The table is located at our California warehouse ready for delivery and installation.
