French Provincial Pine Library Bibliotheque Bookcase 10 Ft
$18,000.00
A monumental early 20th century French Provincial-style two-piece breakfront pine library bibliotheque bookcase cabinet presented in two massive sections. The immense top piece features a deeply molded crown cornice, carved pilaster-form columns with neoclassical pyramid block details, and tall glazed glass doors opening to generous storage and display space. The bottom piece features a stepped ledge separating the top and bottom pieces, paneled lower cupboards doors opening to more storage with shelves, supported by a conforming breakfront base. The cabinet is executed in a beautifully aged pine with rich amber-tones and lively natural woodgrains having knots throughout. The cabinet retains its original aged brass hardware, lock plates, and key which is mostly functional. The substantial piece harmoniously blends French Provincial, Country, and Farmhouse styles with subtle neoclassical details, and is functional as a bookcase, library, pantry, cabinet, cupboard, or display piece. The base dresser cabinet measures 30.5" tall. Beautifully crafted on a grand scale with a lovely aged patina. The top of the cabinet disassembles into several pieces for transport and installation.
