A monumental dining suite comprised of a massive walnut dining table and twelve opulent dining chairs made by Ferrell and Mittman in High Point, North Carolina. The set of chairs is comprised of two host armchairs and ten side chairs. The chairs are crafted in a modern Art Deco style and features striking silhouettes with massive backs measuring almost five feet tall. The side chairs are constructed with skinny and airy profiles, with angled rectangular backs, gracefully curved and tapered front legs, and slender sabered back legs. The chairs are upholstered in a sharp multi-tone striped chenille velvet in charcoal, gold, taupe, cream, and brown running in vertical bands, outlined by a close-set brass nailhead trim along the edges. The set is anchored by impressive throne-like armchairs upholstered entirely in a soft champagne velour fabric. The armchairs are accented by a fully skirted base pleated and trimmed with a metallic gold scrolling leaf brocade border. The table features an immense rectangular top, measuring 13 feet long, 4 feet wide, and 2.75" thick. The top is supported by a modern I-beam trestle base composed of two squared vertical supports joined by a long stretcher, terminating in substantial rectangular plinth feet. The table's design is defined by clean, geometric lines, and is accentuated by the rich walnut finish, subtly revealing the dark grains and figuring of the wood. The set is crafted in a blend of Modern and Art Deco styles, well-suited for a variety of interiors. Measurements listed are for the dining table.
