A refined English late 19th century/early 20th century four-drawer faux bamboo fruitwood commode, chest of drawers, or dresser crafted in the Aesthetic Movement taste. The distinctive commode features decorative turned and carved faux-bamboo accents adorning the rails, skirt, and drawers of the piece. The case is crafted in solid fruitwood showcasing the rich woodgrains. The case is topped by a rectangular white Carrara marble top resting within a faux bamboo gallery rail, providing an elegant contrast to the darker honey-toned wood. The piece stands on four generously proportioned and turned bun feet. Four full-width drawers offer ample storage space and are fitted with keyhole escutcheons with an original key included. The case is sturdy and strong having excellent joinery and craftsmanship in exceptional condition with a desirable aged patina on the finish. The case is large made on a grand scale with a classic European profile. Crafted after the Aesthetic Movement style with an exotic faux bamboo accent, the piece is well suited for a variety of spaces.
