Country French Provincial Pine Farmhouse Dresser with Plate Rack

$4,800.00

A rustic 19th century country French Provincial pine 'deux corps' hutch dresser cabinet or buffet with a plate rack crafted in a farmhouse style. The weathered piece features dramatic architectural carvings throughout. The two-piece cabinet is comprised of an upper plate rack shelved section and a lower cupboard section with storage drawers and a central open bay. The upper section is crafted with two deep shelves topped by a moulded stepped cornice flanked by turned columns and carved diamond corner blocks. The lower case has a thick pine counter work surface with a slight overhang. The bottom case has eight drawers in two banks of four, each with molded carved frames and turned wood knobs. The drawers flank a central open bay with arched apron and shelves. The cabinet sits atop turned bun feet in front and thick shaped bracket feet in the back. The pine has acquired a beautifully distressed honey-tone finish over time, exemplifying the authentically aged character of the cabinet. The dresser has solid joinery and construction with old repairs and latter refurbishments added to the antique pine wood. The two-piece cabinet is crafted in a farmhouse country French Provincial style, well-suited for a variety of spaces. The open shelving and ample storage allow the cabinet to be use as a display cabinet, bookshelf, hutch, pantry, linen cabinet, buffet, server, dish rack, or dresser. Lower section measures 35.5" tall, top section measures 37.5" tall.
