Grand late 19th/early 20th century country English library breakfront bookcase cabinet crafted from pine. Made in the Georgian taste with intricate carved neoclassical motifs. The top of the case features four astragal glazed windows. The four locking doors are surmounted by a corniced top and centered by a Greco-Roman pointed pediment. The front of the case has decorative pilaster style reeded columns. The bookcase disassembles into six large pieces making the relocation easier in small doorways or staircases. Originally imported from London. Sold at Michael Davis Co. in the 20th century to Bruce Graney Antiques in Pasadena, CA. From an estate in Santa Barbara, CA. Beautifully crafted with a desirable aged, warm pine patina finish.
