Country English Georgian Pine Bookcase Astragal Glazed Doors
$9,800.00
A handsome 20th century Georgian style country English pine bookcase cabinet featuring astral glazed glass doors. Constructed from pine in warm aged honey-toned patina. The cabinet is surmounted by a broad molded cornice, a projecting waist molded ledge, paneled lower doors, three frieze drawers, and a large plinth base. The upper case is fitted with three glass doors, decorated in a Georgian style with applied astragal accent molding on the glass in a geometric pattern. Inside, the cabinet holds open shelving backed by an open vertical plank backing. The lower section provides generous concealed storage, containing three drawers set above three paneled cupboard doors. The cabinet is finished with round patinated brass knobs and brass hinges, creating a pleasing contrast with the pine surface. The wood displays attractive natural wood grains, knots, color variation, and an aged mellow patina, giving the piece a country feel. The versatile piece is functional for holding books, dishes, glassware, ceramics, linens, or as a cupboard. It is well suited for a kitchen, library, pantry, retail, or an English country house-inspired interior. The cabinet has solid joinery and construction with a tidy fit and finish. The pine has a desirable aged patina as seen in photos that showcase the rich woodgrains.
