A large and beautifully weathered handwoven French vineyard Champagne grape wine harvest basket in thick woven wicker, rattan, and wood. The rustic basket features a broad tapered oval body rising into a large reinforced rim fitted with two substantial rope-twist carrying handles. The basket retains the woven rattan interior and old wire repairs to the base, adding to the authentically aged patina. The base bears a hand-stenciled "GA," indicating the vineyard or winery of origin. The toned and varied coloration, handwoven character, and authentic wear give the piece a rich rustic character, suited for Farmhouse, Country, and French Provincial spaces. Originally intended for use in a vineyard, the basket is functional indoors or outdoors as a decorative piece or storage for firewood or linens.
