Grand Chinese export post republic period eight panel coromandel screen featuring a waterscape decorated with blossoming lotus and birds. The screen measures over 12 feet laid out flat with eight panels covered with lacquer, incised and painted with natural color pigments. The scene has a small border depicting stylized dragons. The panels are supported by straight legs with patinated brass clad feet. The reverse side depicts a large ancient tree with spring blossoms and a Chinese script signature. Beautifully crafted with a desirable aged patina from an estate in Beverly, Hills, CA.
