A finely crafted Chinese export Qing Dynasty style carved hardwood occasional, tea, or side table. The table features a rectangular top with a molded, gallery-style raised edge over an ornately hand-carved base. The base is crafted with a carved continuous interlocking scroll pattern in a key-fret style, and gracefully sweeping legs adorned by a hand-carved pierced medallion of two interlocking rings. The legs are joined by a crossed stretcher base, and at the center hangs a smaller galleried tray shelf, the apron carved with the same scrolling fretwork as the top. The table is crafted in a warm and luminous hardwood with handsome natural figuring. The piece separates into top, base, and lower tray sections for ease of movement and transport. The table is crafted in an elegant Chinese Qing Dynasty style, and well suited for use as a side table, tray table, occasional table, or display stand. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
