A stately Georgian style mahogany executive writing table or desk crafted by Baker Furniture in the United States. The rare desk is from the Baker Collector's Editions which was a limited production run known for reproducing 18th-century European styles and using high-quality woods, brass, and hand-crafted details. The desk top features a generous rectangular top finished in a rich mahogany and refined with a delicate inlaid veneer border, showcasing the fine flowing mahogany grain patterns. The desk case is constructed in an elegant Georgian taste, featuring five front drawers and three pull-out writing tables, two flanking the front and a central back pull-out. The drawers include a large file storage drawer with a faux three-pull front. Polished brass swan-neck bail pulls add a tailored element. The central drawer reveals a small built-in compartment organizer. The massive case is supported by eight straight square legs ending in spade feet. The legs have distinctive corner spandrel brackets having Chinese Chippendale influence. The desk measures 24.75" from the floor to the apron for ample leg room. Opulent style with sturdy and strong construction having excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Makers label and collector's edition plaque located in the top drawer.
