20th C. French Neoclassical Iron Tête-À-Tête Garden Bench
$2,800.00
A beautifully crafted 20th century wrought iron tête-à-tête banquette garden bench crafted in a dramatic French Neoclassical style. The bench features elegant hand-forged iron construction with a hand-hammered finish. The ams have whimsical scrolled ends and a S-curved frame forming two opposing "tête-à-tête" ("head to head) seats. The back frame is articulated with X-form accents between straight iron uprights, and rests on four gently curved and tapered legs ending in small pad feet. The iron has been beautifully patinated over time, resulting in a rich dark patina. The bench is finished with a fitted loose taupe and cream striped cushion on top of the iron slat seat. Crafted in a French Neoclassical style after artisans like Mario Papperzini and John Salterini. The frame is strong having solid joinery and construction with a patinated finish. The bench is well-suited for use indoors or outdoors in a garden, foyer entry, bedroom, living room, on a patio, terrace, or poolside.
