19th Century Louis XVI Style Giltwood Marble Top Library Table

Grand French 19th century library table, writing table, or bureau plat featuring an Italian Carrara marble top inset. Beautifully crafted with a lacquer base covered with fine gilt. The finish has a rich, aged patina with insect holes adding to its character and charm. The frame has excellent joinery and craftsmanship topped with a thick marble slab having an ogee edge inset and fitted to the top. Finished on all sides with an elegant profile.
