18th Century French Louis XVI Diminutive Mahogany Footstool


Charming diminutive or petite footstool from the French Louis XVI period. The stool features a hand-carved mahogany frame with neoclassical motifs. The oval form is supported by acanthus clad legs topped with square rosettes. Newly upholstered with a geometric chevron textured fabric bordered by brass tack nail heads. The lovely unrestored finish is full of character and charm proudly showing its age. From an estate in Napa Valley, CA.

Condition: Good, minor wear consistent with age and use. Reupholstered. Newly upholstered with age appropriate wear. Old repairs and hand-carved finish. Stool is not even on bottom but difficult to notice, losses to finish as seen in photos.
