18th Century Monumental French Pine Drapers Table Store Display

$9,000.00

Rare authentic 18th century monumental French drapers trestle table or store display featuring 16 work drawers. This massive work table was used in a mercery or Habadashery by cloth merchants or drapers to cut and sew long bolts of fabric. The drapers could work on each side of the table and use the drawers to store cutting tools. This table makes a grand display piece with a country French rustic farmhouse aesthetic. The top measures over 12 feet long and is constructed from 3 large plank boards over 1 inch thick. The top varies in height due to age sagging in the middle from 28-29 inches from the floor to the apron. The pine is heavily weathered, worn, and distressed with losses and sagging joinery that add to its character and charm.
