Dramatic pencil reed pole rattan sofa settee featuring an ebonized lacquered finish crafted by artisans at Palecek. The rattan frame is lashed together with leather strapping in the manner of McGuire. The back and sides have a geometric open fretwork design that has an airy silhouette. Made in the style of a president's sofa after FDR's sofa on his yacht the USS Potomac. The rattan has a sleek matte black finish with newly upholstered seat cushions in a neutral oyster tone. The design has clean art deco lines in an organic modern style. From an estate in San Francisco, CA. Sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship.
