Amazing set of nine framed botanical hand-colored etching lithographs after 19th century horticulturist Louis Van Houtte (Belgian 1810-1876) who was with the Jardin Botanique de Brussels between 1836 and 1838. The prints depict various examples of peonies, lilies, orchids, and more with a whimsical pink and red theme. Each print is matted with a light pale green border and set in a gilt wood frame having an intentionally aged patina on the finish. The prints display fine detailing and vibrant color. Sold as a grand set of nine framed works. From an estate in the Napa Valley, California. The prints provide a strong, colorful focal point on a large scale.
