Rare and unusual signed dining table or display console featuring a hand-painted faux marble formica top painted by Roy Alderson. This table features a repurposed 19th century brass base from Harris and Sheldon of Stafford St. Birmingham, England circa 1890. The trestle base is signed in the middle where the stretchers conjoined with a plaque. The neoclassical style top features a greek key border over a variegated faux marble background centered by a scrolling acanthus design. The top has rosettes in each corner and is signed by the artist Roy Alderson. Stunning table with gracefully curved trestle base crafted in the art nouveau taste and neoclassical faux marble top. Would make a great center table or display. Alderson is known to have made murals for Renzo Mongiardino Italian designer in Milan, Italy.
