Rare and whimsical pair of patinated bronze table lamps by Maitland-Smith depicting a monkey jockey riding a large ostrich. The bronzes are mounted to a dark tessellated stone plinth that is thick and round. The lamps are very heavy and solid with a desirable aged patina on the bronze having verdigris. The shades are supported by bronze columns ending with round bronze finials. Maitland-Smith labels on bottoms. Sold as a pair. From an estate in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Shades are 17"d x 12.5"h.

Condition: Good, wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with an aged patina on the finishes as seen in photos. Age appropriate wear and fading with minor scuffs and chips which are difficult to see.
