A dramatic pair of foot stools or ottomans crafted in the Napoleonic Empire or Aesthetic Movement style. The stools feature a dramatic tailored black leather upholstery with elegantly detailed giltwood bases to create a rich contrast. The frames have a scalloped or serpentine form on the sides with a piped edge resting above a secondary upholstered deck. The serpentine aprons are finish in an opulent giltwood and embellished with crosshatched detailing, scrolling rocaille, cartouches, and floral rosette accents, inspired by classical Rococo-style motifs. The whimsical turned legs are crafted with bulb and ring detailing and end with small rounded feet. Functional as cocktail ottomans, stools, or accent pieces under a console.
