Pair of Michael Taylor Style Ming Inspired Hardwood Sofas

$7,800.00

A finely crafted pair of Chinese export Ming Dynasty-style hardwood sofa benches crafted in the manner and style of Michael Taylor for Baker Far East Collection.. Each sofa bench features an elegant spindle gallery back composed of slender turned dowels rising from a sweeping crest rail, flanked by open fretwork arms carved in an interlocking geometric key pattern. The benches are raised on a continuous apron with a carved molded edge detailing and squared legs terminating in hoof-like feet. The seats are topped with loose cushions in cream cotton set over box springs. The hardwood is finished in a warm and richly grained honey-brown tone, cleanly contrasting the light cushions. The wood has a desirable faded authentic patina on the finish as seen in photos. The versatile pair is well-suited for use in a variety of interiors. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
