Stunning mahogany sofa settee crafted by Hickory Chair in the Federal or Sheraton taste. The sofa features a gracefully curved subtle hump back crest rail that extends to flat arms ending with scrolls. The arm supports are turned and fluted in the Sheraton manner. The sofa is upholstered with a whimsical striped pattern fabric in very good, presentable condition. The fabric is bordered by brass tack nail heads. The fabric is lively with shades of sage and rose over a cream ground. The sofa is supported by turned, fluted legs in the front. Sturdy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The corners are accented by small maple burl inlay above the legs. The sofa has a large fitted loose seat cushion that tethers to the frame. Makers tag under seat cushion.

Condition: Good, wear consistent with age and use. Replacements made. Reupholstered. Beautifully crafted with solid joinery and construction. Very good, well preserved condition as seen in photos. Fabric on ends appears to have been replaced. Age appropriate wear with minor chips, scuffs and scratches that are difficult to see.
