An exceptional labeled Organic Modern bamboo, rattan, leather, and cane sofa settee made by artisans at McGuire, San Francisco, CA. The distinctive settee features a long continuous rattan pole top rail curving around the length of the sofa, forming a sleek low silhouette. The back and side galleries are constructed with tightly woven double-cane panels. The settee sits atop six legs with curved bentwood supports. The seat is fitted with an oatmeal-tone fitted loose seat cushion atop a strap webbing seat deck housed by a double bamboo pole apron. The settee is crafted with McGuire's signature leather rawhide lashing joinery throughout. The gently aged rattan, cane, leather, and bamboo are finished in varied tones of honey, caramel, toffee, and natural bamboo with a desirable authentic patina. The rattan frame is solid and strong having excellent joinery and craftsmanship in exceptional condition. The set comes from a dry non-humid, mold free California climate. The settee is crafted in a distinct mix of Mid-Century Organic Modern, Palm Beach Tropical, and California Coastal styles, well-suited for use in a variety of spaces. McGuire manufacturer's plaque is present on the underside. The iconic design is a modern (Late 20th C.) take on their mid-century design updated with an inset of double woven cane panels.
