Set of Fourteen Maison Royere Style Iron Garden Dining Chairs

$28,000.00

Dramatic and grand set of fourteen patio and garden dining chairs made in the manner and style of French Maison Jean Royere. The large chairs feature iron frames with a gracefully arched back having bronze finials on the corners. The backs are inset with a geometric lattice pattern in a neoclassical style. The set consists of twelve side chairs and two host armchairs. The seats measure 19 inches high and have conforming, thick seat cushions with worn fabric. The front legs have a whimsical style with a splayed foot. The legs are conjoined by curved stretchers. Very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Sold as a set of 14. These large chairs were probably the inspiration for many designs as Rose Tarlow twig and Mario Papperzini. From an estate in Bel Air, CA.
