Impressive French pedestal garden dining table or center table featuring a patinated bronze base topped with a thick slab of Italian travertine. The round top measures 1.5 inches thick with an ogee beveled edge. The travertine is supported by a three-sided bronze pedestal decorated in the baroque taste having shell rocaille above winged cherubs on each side. The corners are decorated with neoclassical acanthus scrolls ending with lions paw feet. The pedestal is mounted to a later iron plinth in a conforming shape. The bronze has a heavily patinated, weathered finish with verdigris. The opulent table could serve as a grand center table or in an orangerie. From an estate in Bel Air, CA.
