Set of Michael Taylor Neoclassical White Klismos Dining Chairs

$7,800.00

An iconic and refined set of five labeled "White Klismos" dining chairs by Michael Taylor Designs comprising of two host armchairs and three side chairs. The chairs are constructed from solid beech wood in the Greco-Roman Neoclassical taste featuring a lacquered finish with an intentionally weathered patina. The carved beech frames are designed with broad tablet-form backs having inset paneling and applied round bosses. The chairs are raised on elegantly tapered and gently sabered legs with linear carved reeded details. The armchairs are distinguished by open arms measuring 26.5" high with graceful curved supports. The side chairs maintain the same strong Neoclassical Klismos profile. The chairs are finished in a hand-painted and hand-rubbed parchment-toned finish to complement the lightly toned, soft leather upholstered seats. The lacquer and leather finish is intentionally distressed in palette of parchment, bone, and neutral tones that lend a casual versatility to the chairs, blending Neoclassical and California Romantic Modern having a classic Klismos chair profile. The side chairs measure 20.75" wide, 24.25" deep, 34.5" tall, with 18.5" high seats. The chairs are sturdy having solid joinery and construction with a gorgeous aged patina. Sold as a set of five chairs. Each chair retains its original signed makers label on the bottom from Michael Taylor Design in San Francisco, CA.
