An elegant labeled English "New Bohemian Artist’s Chair", designed by Ralph Lauren. The large shelter wing chair is upholstered in a striking Italian riding velvet in a dramatic deep blue tone. The chair features a tall shaped back with subtle wings, scrolled arms, and nickel brass tack nailhead trim along the lower edges. The chair is raised on darkly stained shaped hardwood legs with nickel casters in the front. The vivid upholstery shifts beautifully in light, ranging from cobalt to sapphire and midnight blue and is subtly contrasted by the dark feet and lighter brass nailhead accent trim. The seat is fitted with a generously padded spring-down seat cushion. Constructed in the United Kingdom and designed as part of Ralph Lauren's New Bohemian Collection. The chair retains the original Ralph Lauren maker's tag and order tag showing the model and original MSRP of $9965. for the chair. The large arms of the chair measure 24" tall. The chair is in exceptional condition as seen in photos. The frame is sturdy and solid having excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The chair was individually bench made in the UK by artisans with a tidy fit and finish.
