Set of Four Dan Johnson Brown Jordan Sol Y Luna Dining Chairs

$5,800.00

An elegant set of four mid-century modern “Sol y Luna” patio and garden dining armless chairs designed by Dan Johnson for Brown Jordan. Originally designed in 1954 and crafted from cast and welded aluminum, each chair features an open geometric lattice waffle style seat and back. The back is framed by sinuously curved uprights that sweep upward and converge into a flowing top rail, helping create the distinctive movement and gazelle-like profile associated with Johnson’s Gazelle Collection. The chairs sit atop slender and gently curved legs tapering into small round feet resting on small pads. The cast aluminum frames have a lovely textured finish. The chairs have been recently re-finished in a UV weather resistant outdoor paint having a dark greyed bronze tone, giving the chairs a visually weighted presence while maintaining the airy and open frame. Blending Italian modernist design with North American construction, the chairs are well suited for use indoors or outdoors, particularly poolside, in a garden, courtyard, terrace, or sunroom. The chairs MSRP begins at $1,995 (SKU 2680-2900). Sold as a set of four. From an estate in Bel Air, CA.
