Pair of Mario Papperzini Amalfi Iron Lounge Chairs and Ottomans

$12,800.00

An iconic and rare pair of "Amalfi" lounge chairs and matching ottomans with adjustable chain backs. The stylish mid-century modern design after Mario Papperzini's design for John Salterini. The set consists of two armchairs and two ottomans featuring an open iron framework inset with geometric lattice strapping. Each chair is constructed with slender tubular legs, and flat ribbon-like undulating arms, and adjustable chains to customize the back seating position. The tops of the seat backs, arm supports, and ottoman supports are fitted with elegant decorative round bronze ball finials. The heavy frames of the chairs and ottomans have a dramatic black iron powder-coated finish. The frames are topped with recently reupholstered white back and seat cushions having a soft woven fabric finish. A sturdy and solid set having excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The suite is crafted in an elegant European Neoclassical garden style with bold latticework and elegant hand-crafted wrought iron construction for a very well-heeled look. The mid-century modern design by Mario Papperzini is marketed through sevral high-end sites such as Amalfi, Janus et Cie, and originally by John Salterini. The matching "Amalfi" ottomans measure 26" wide, 22.5" deep, and 17.5" inches tall. Sold as a set of 4 pieces consisting of two chairs and two ottomans and six cushions.
