An elegant country English camel or hump back sofa settee crafted in the William and Mary Baroque taste. The distinctive frame is constructed from dark walnut and upholstered in a patterned coral pink fabric. The settee features a dramatic triple-humped back, and high shelter wing arms. The richly articulated exposed base features a stretcher section with turned legs, rounded feet, and block joinery on the stretcher rails. The tall shaped back rises in three arched sections, creating a graceful crest going down into the arms. The settee is finished in a faded coral or salmon toned geometric woven fabric patterned with abstract glyphs that is visibly aged. A long loose fitted seat cushion finished with welted edges rests above the upholstered apron. The piece is crafted in the Louis XIV, or William and Mary style with 17th century French Baroque influence, well suited for an entry, library, bedroom, living room, or hallway. The sofa case has solid joinery and construction with faded upholstery from exposure as seen in photos. The cost associated with reupholstering the sofa has been considered in the price.
