An elaborate Moorish style carved hardwood round drinks table, or side table, featuring a richly carved top over an openwork octagonal base. The table is carved throughout with hand-carved foliate, bird, vine, and floral motifs, creating a detailed and layered surface. The circular top is crafted with a molded edge and floral border surrounding a central medallion with concentric rings having brass and bone inlaid details. The base is constructed with hinged vertical panels creating an octagonal drum form, each with carved openwork leaves, birds, and foliage. Additional relief-carved floral bands decorate the vertical stiles and lower rails, giving a screen-like quality to the paneled sides. Constructed out of honey-brown wood, likely teak. Well-suited for use as a side table, drinks table, occasional table, accent table, or decorative stand. Made in a campaign style with Moorish influence and a lovely faded, aged patina.
