A charming country English folk art blanket chest or storage trunk crafted from pine measuring nearly 3.5' feet wide. The chest features a later hand-painted Georgian manor house façade on the front and side panels. The large case in constructed from oak and pine. The painted sides are decorated with trompe l'œil detailed elements such as blue-gray windows, a grand stepped entrance, stone-colored trim, dark cornice details, columns, basement windows, and small green topiary elements. The painted finish has a desirable aged patina and weathered finish as an aged 18th century country English Georgian house. The painted finish in subtle tones of ochre, charcoal, teal, grey, burgundy, and green over the toned wood. The chest is fitted with a hinged lid, a projecting plinth base, and supported by turned bun feet. Each side of the chest has patinated iron handles. The chest has ample storage and could serve as a blanket chest, side table, drinks table, coffee table, or decorative display.
